Terms of Service
These terms explain how tutors and students may use Bavel.
Effective date: July 12, 2026
1. Who operates Bavel
Bavel is a service operated from Israel. References to "Bavel," "we," "us," and "our" mean the operator of the Bavel service at bavel.one.
You can contact us at contact@bavel.one.
2. The service
Bavel helps language tutors create and share student pages containing lesson notes, learning materials, exercises, assignments, progress information, feedback, and suggested next steps.
Some Bavel features use artificial intelligence and other service providers to organize, transform, summarize, generate, host, and deliver content. AI-generated content can be inaccurate or incomplete, and tutors or users should review content before relying on or assigning it.
Bavel may rely on third-party providers and integrations, including hosting, payment, analytics, authentication, storage, and artificial-intelligence services. Optional third-party integrations may also be governed by those providers' terms and privacy practices.
3. Accounts and shareable links
Tutors and students may create accounts. Students may also access some pages or exercises through public or shareable links without creating an account. Public or shareable links may be accessed by anyone who receives or obtains the link.
Do not include sensitive, confidential, or unnecessary personal information in publicly accessible pages or shareable links. You are responsible for choosing what to share and with whom. Where product controls are available, you are responsible for disabling, deleting, or restricting links you no longer want accessible.
You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping sign-in credentials secure.
4. Minors
Bavel is not intended for children to create or manage accounts independently. Students under 16 should use Bavel only with consent from a parent or guardian, or under the direction of an authorized tutor, parent, guardian, or educational provider.
Tutors, parents, guardians, and educational providers are responsible for obtaining any required permissions before inviting minors, entering a minor's personal information, or allowing a minor to use the service.
5. Your content and student information
You retain ownership of content you upload or submit, including worksheets, images, PDFs, prompts, instructions, answers, lesson notes, recordings, feedback, and other materials. You grant Bavel a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, transform, display, and use that content solely as necessary to operate, maintain, secure, improve, and provide the service to you and your authorized users.
If you upload or enter information about another person, including a student, you represent that you have the necessary authority, permission, or other lawful basis to provide that information to Bavel and allow us to process it for the purpose of providing the service.
Bavel uses uploaded content to provide student pages, exercises, assignments, recaps, feedback, and related features. Exercises, assignment pages, student pages, and related content may be accessible through shareable links and may be reused, adapted, or viewed by other users where product features allow. Do not upload content unless you have the rights and permissions needed for that use.
We do not use customer content or student submissions to train Bavel-owned AI models. Third-party AI providers may process content according to their own service terms and data processing terms.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use Bavel unlawfully, infringe others' rights, upload harmful or abusive content, attempt to bypass security or usage limits, interfere with the service, scrape the service, or use Bavel to create content that is illegal, deceptive, hateful, or harmful.
7. Payments, subscriptions, and refunds
Paid features may be offered to tutors and students. Payments are expected to be processed by Lemon Squeezy or another payment provider. Payment providers may handle billing information under their own terms and privacy notices.
We may change our pricing, plans, included features, free features, usage limits, usage model, or billing model from time to time. Unless we explicitly agree otherwise in writing, offering a feature for free, during beta, as courtesy access, or under an earlier plan does not require us to keep offering that feature for free or under the same terms in the future.
You may cancel a paid subscription through your account settings, through the payment provider where available, or by contacting us. Unless stated otherwise at checkout, subscriptions renew automatically and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Access remains active until the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or approved by us case-by-case.
Cancelling a subscription does not automatically delete your account or stored content. Account deletion is handled separately as described in these terms and our Privacy Policy.
8. Unlimited usage
When Bavel describes a plan or feature as "unlimited," it means reasonable usage for an independent private 1:1 language tutor using Bavel with their own tutoring students.
Unlimited usage is subject to abuse guardrails. It does not permit reselling access, sharing one account across unrelated tutors or organizations, automated or excessive usage, scraping, bulk generation unrelated to private tutoring, or usage that creates unusual cost, operational, security, or service-quality risk for Bavel or other users.
9. No educational guarantee
Bavel provides tools for creating and completing practice. We do not guarantee learning outcomes, exam results, assignment completion, error-free scoring, or suitability for any specific learner or curriculum.
10. Suspension, termination, and deletion
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these terms, created risk for Bavel or others, failed to pay applicable fees, or used the service in a way that may cause harm or legal exposure.
You may request deletion of your account. Following termination or deletion, we may delete or anonymize account content, subject to reasonable backup periods, legal obligations, fraud prevention, security, and enforcement needs. You are responsible for exporting any content you wish to retain before deleting your account.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Bavel is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and uninterrupted operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bavel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages. Bavel's total aggregate liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Bavel during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD 100.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Israel will have jurisdiction unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
13. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to provide advance notice and may request renewed acceptance where required. Continued use of Bavel after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
