Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Bavel collects and how we use it.

Effective date: May 16, 2026

1. Who we are

Bavel is a service operated from Israel. For privacy questions, contact contact@bavel.one.

For purposes of this policy, Bavel is the controller of personal information we process through bavel.one, except where we process information on behalf of another user or as otherwise required by law.

2. Information we collect

We collect account information such as name, email address, role, locale preference, authentication data, and settings. If paid features are used, billing and transaction details are processed by our payment provider, expected to be Lemon Squeezy; we do not intend to store full payment card numbers.

We collect content and learning data, including uploaded PDFs, images, prompts, instructions, generated exercises, public assignment links, student answers, scores, completion status, history, and related feedback.

We collect technical and usage data such as device and browser information, IP address, logs, cookie identifiers, pages viewed, feature usage, and analytics events. We use analytics, measurement, and advertising technologies to understand usage, improve Bavel, and measure marketing performance, subject to consent where required. Where permitted by consent and settings, we may send a protected version of a tutor account email to advertising providers to improve attribution.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide and secure Bavel, create and deliver exercises, maintain accounts, process payments, send transactional emails, provide support, analyze product performance, improve features, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We may send product updates or marketing emails where permitted by law. You can opt out of marketing emails, but we may still send transactional or service messages.

4. AI processing

Bavel uses Google AI services to generate and transform learning content and, where AI-assisted grading is enabled, to evaluate student answers. Uploaded materials, prompts, instructions, related exercise content, and relevant student answers may be sent to Google AI services and other infrastructure providers as needed to provide the service.

We do not use customer content or student submissions to train Bavel-owned AI models. Third-party AI providers may process content according to their own service terms and data processing terms.

5. Public links and reuse

Students can access exercises through public or shareable links without an account. Anyone with the link may be able to access the exercise and related content. Tutors and users should avoid putting sensitive personal information into exercises or sharing links more broadly than intended.

Uploaded content is used to create exercises. Generated exercises may be publicly accessible through links and may be reused, adapted, or viewed by others where Bavel features allow.

6. Cookies and analytics

Bavel uses essential cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and core functionality. With consent where required, we use analytics, measurement, and advertising technologies to understand usage, improve Bavel, measure marketing performance, and attribute campaigns using protected account identifiers.

You can manage cookie preferences through the cookie banner or cookie preferences link on the site.

7. Service providers

We use service providers to host, secure, analyze, email, support, and operate Bavel. These may include infrastructure, analytics, AI processing, payment, email delivery, customer support, security, and marketing measurement providers.

These providers may process personal information only as needed to provide their services to us, subject to their applicable terms and data protection commitments.

8. International transfers

We are based in Israel and use global service providers. Your information may be processed in Israel, the European Economic Area, the United States, and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

9. Data retention and deletion

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Bavel, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, improve the service, and comply with legal obligations.

Users can request account deletion by contacting contact@bavel.one. We may need to retain limited information where required by law, for legitimate business records, security, billing, or dispute purposes. Some content may remain available if it was shared through public links, reused by others, anonymized, aggregated, or retained in backups for a limited period.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including in the EU/EEA, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise rights, contact contact@bavel.one. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Minors and students

Bavel is not intended for children to use independently. Students under 16 should use Bavel only with consent from a parent or guardian, or under the direction of an authorized tutor, parent, guardian, or educational provider.

Tutors, parents, guardians, and educational providers are responsible for obtaining required consent before inviting minors or entering their personal information into Bavel.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users.
